COMPLIANCE MATTERS

IRS, EBSA, DOL AND OTHER SCARY FEDERAL AGENCIES

The number of laws relating to employee benefit plans greatly increased with the passage of the Affordable Care Act on March 23, 2010.  Prior to that, COBRA, in 1986, and ERISA, in 1974, were the most onerous pieces of legislation effecting the sponsorship employee benefit plans.   Each of these laws compel compliance adding several items to your administrative ‘to do’ list.  We offer resources to help you comply with these regulations, all included at no cost to you.

We Help Clients Stay Compliant

Our consultants keep you current with all the legislation effecting your plans and ways for you to comply with both federal and state requirements.  We use a tested and approved set of documents which assures compliance when distributed to employees as advised.  In most cases, complying requires little more than the distribution of appropriate documents.  When compliance is more involved, we can facilitate an introduction to outside counsel for support.  As audits become sources of revenue for the Department of Labor, and as the number of audits increase, maintaining plan compliance is a priority.
